The second part is marketing yourself as an author. Establishing your author platform takes time and consistency, but is well worth it. When you become a recognized name, even among a small number of fans, it can propel each book you release to success.
Ultimately, marketing is about getting yourself and your work in front of the people who want to read it, and then convincing them to buy. There are a variety of ways to do this, and what works for one author might not for another.
